A photograph captures a second; a tragedy lasts a lifetime. Working with world-renowned photographer Reza Deghati, we realized his iconic Khojaly archive was more than records – it was windows into unfinished human stories that AI could finally set in motion and give a voice.
“Where is my son.” In collaboration with Reza Deghati, we used generative AI to transcend traditional documentary limits. By animating his world-famous stills, we transformed static pain into a hauntingly fluid cinematic experience – turning an iconic photograph into a living testament that honors the past while speaking the visual language of a global, modern audience.
We developed an AI-first workflow to respectfully expand Deghati’s original captures. By integrating Midjourney for visual fidelity with Runway Gen-3, Kling, and VEO for cinematic motion, we 're-filmed' history through a multi-model AI workflow. This technical synergy honors the authenticity of the original lens while showcasing how AI can serve as a powerful, empathetic vessel for historical preservation and human storytelling.
The project achieved deep cultural resonance, with audiences praising its ability to revive historical memory and transform a tragic legacy into a living digital testament.
