Zokir Khalmatov is an Art Director and multidisciplinary designer from Uzbekistan with over 15 years of experience. He works at MA’NO Branding, one of the leading branding agencies in Central Asia. Over the course of his career, Zokir has evolved from a copywriter, illustrator, layout designer, and project manager into a full-scale art director. His core expertise lies in brand design, with a strong focus on local identity, cultural context, and regional authenticity. Zokir has contributed to a number of landmark projects in Uzbekistan, including the development of the national currency symbol, the country’s first territorial branding in Uzbekistan, the rebranding of the national postal operator UZPOST, and the transformation of Uzbekistan’s largest fintech brand — Click. In total, he has led and delivered 100+ major branding projects. His portfolio includes projects across a wide range of industries, including real estate and construction, FMCG, education, retail, fintech and banking, non-profit and public sector organizations, among others. Zokir is one of the most awarded art directors in Uzbekistan, with over 15 international and regional awards, including Red Dot Award, Pentawards, Epica Awards, ADSTARS, White Square, JOLBORS Festival, IDEA Festival, HONEST Fest, and TAF! He is a regular participant and speaker at industry conferences and has served as a jury member at SPIKES Asia, AD BLACK SEA, RED APPLE, as well as Young Lions Uzbekistan, ADWEEK/TAF!, and the Tashkent Brand Development Contest. His creative approach is deeply influenced by sociology, cultural research, and the unique local essence of Central Asia, which form the foundation of his design philosophy. |
